Issues with MPF (USAF)?
My husband (active USAF) and I (non-military) are stationed on Okinawa. We have a DEROs date of May 2013, however MPF never sent the updated DEROs date (it used to be May 2012) to the big air force. We now have orders to Kirtland AFB, and even though our DEROs here it was approved by the air force. Neither my husband nor I desire to go to Kirtland. What is the common protocol with MPF mistakes? Do the orders to Kirtland get canceled because MPF made a mistake (like they always do!) or do we have to go to Kirtland because some idiot A1C decided he didn't feel like working that day? Just let me know if anything like this every happened to you or someone you know and the outcome. Bonus points if you were/are in MPF.

Why don't you order your husband to take his extension of that DEROS date Orders over to your local MPF and have them fix it? If you have an approved extension of a DEROS then no, you won't have to go to Kirkland. But, sitting back and calling an unknown A1C and idiot isn't going to solve your problems. There are thousands of Active duty Airmen, people make mistakes at times and sometimes things fall through the cracks so your husband is not the only person in the AF and if he really wanted to he could fix this easily, by making an appointment with the local MPF, provide the required documentation, get issued an amended set of orders rescinding those orders to Kirkland and problem solved.
My daughter is an AF SSG, she works in assignments in an MPF, I can assure you she or the folks that work for her are not idiots and the majority of problems are caused by the Airmen themselves and are easily fixed when they, "they" bring it to the attention of the MPF. After a lifetime in the Army I've had paperwork snafus but instead of placing blame, I gathered my paperwork and went to the personnel office to have them fix it.
If your husband takes his extension to the MPF and it doesn't get fixed, then maybe those folks really are idiots but until then, give them a chance to become aware of the problem and a chance to fix it.
Don't want your bonus points either, I don't nor ever have worked in an MPF but I have a really good idea on how each branch handles "personnel" issues.
