A question about egging.?

Me and my brother(both over 18) went to buy eggs for our mom who was making brownies at home. On the way home my brother dared me to egg a car and even though i didn't want to, i still did. (and i regret it, i feel so bad especially since my car has been egged before and i know the feeling). The problem is that the car we egged actually caught up with us and forced us to stop, It was a son and his dad and they threatened to call the cops but we apologized to the father and he was cool about it. But then his son(who is over also 18) egged our car back but with like 4 eggs. I accept that as payback but that's not the question;

The problem is they took our license plate, assuming they call the cops, could we get in any trouble seeing how they egged our car too? (i know that egging is vandalizing and gets a heavy fine + possible jail time, but i want to know if they would get some sort of sentence too)

Also, The son also had a car wrench in his hand and was provoking us to fight by pretending that he was going to hit us with it. So I'm also wondering if the police was called on us if the son could get some sort of threatening case against him.

(Please don't post about how egging is wrong, it was the first and last time and the lesson was DEFINITELY learned, never again!)

    ROTFLMFAO

    GREAT

    So we see it this way, They file a complaint, it goes to court, they say you egged their car, then when you testify, you end saying they egged our car back?

    Does Two (2) WRONGS make a RIGHT?

    But i would love to see the judges face when faced with that case to decide.

    ever heard the saying to wrongs don't make a right ??? - if you egged there car and they call the police you will be charged with vandalism and end up on probation. if they egg your car - they were provoked so that will be there defence, they will also get probation but less time. i doubt they will call the police because if they call them on you, you can also file a compliant and they will get in trouble as well. if he was threatening to hit you then you could try and charge him was simple assumer (misdemeanour)
