My guinea pigs DON'T like/eat vegetables?
So I have 2 female guinea pigs. They are both Domestic American. I have tried to give them cucumbers, bell peppers, all that stuff. But they just don't eat it! I have never heard of a guinea pig that doesn't like to eat their veggies. They are about 5 months old. They aren't unhealthy from this, but it would be better for them if they ate it. Why don't they like vegetables? ;)

If they weren't fed greens as pups, they are not likely to try them. Guinea pigs are creatures of habit and they like what they know.
Try some leafy greens like kale or chard or dark lettuce. If that doesn't work, try fresh, clean grass clippings (hand clipped, not what come out of the lawn mower). Pigs that won't eat other fresh veg will often eat grass because it smells a lot like hay which most are "hard wired" to like eating.
As long as your chow is a quality brand with vitamin C and is fresh, you have no nutritional worries

Maybe they just don't like the type of veggies you're giving them. I have a 3 year old abby male. He is a VERY picky eater. He likes carrots but his favorite is broccoli stems. Because they aren't eating veggies you need to make sure they are getting nutrients from timothy hay and their pellet food.
Here is a list of some veggies:

They are probably just picky. I also have two female pigs who are picky. Try giving them any of these: Carrots, Apples ( make sure they are free of seeds), Grapes, bananas, Strawberries (in moderation), tomatoes (Again, in moderation), and ORANGES! Guinea pigs need the extra vitamin C so citrus fruit is a must and i can 99% guarantee they will eat that. Hope this helped.

Both are good for you, each fruit/vegetable has different vitamins. And so as more variety, as better. Vegetables have generally less sugar than fruits.

All fruits are fresh vegetables. A "vegetable" is a plant, any part of which can be used for food.
