I left my iPod in my pocket and washed it... help?

I went to wash cothes and forgot that my iPod was in my pocket and it was in for the whole cycle. I got it out when I realized it and it doesn't turn on anymore... Is there anything I can do to get it working again without buying a new one? I don't think I have a warrant :(

    do not try turning it on. stick it in a bag of dry rice for a day or so then try again. But i think you pretty much drowned it for good.

    Go to apple store and ask for help and they will tell you the right thing to do
