Led Zeppelin 3 - can I have your opinions on the song Tangerine?
During the chorus to this song the blending of the voices sounds discordant, or out of tune to me. This song sounds imperfect and I'm thinking that's part of the reason I like it, compared to bands like Boston where everything sounds perfect. So, my question to all you musical people is when listening to the chorus and the part of "In betweeeeeen" Does this sound a bit out of tune to you? Also, do you like this song? Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

Zeppelin's background vocals were always out of tune to a degree; Page and Jones were no Crosby and Nash, that is for sure. But that adds to what rock is all about for me; it isn't about 'pretty voices'. So I agree with you, I like some of their discordant notes...

I've never worried much about it. Page and Jones did their best as background singers, though it wasn't their forte. In my humble opinion, it doesn't detract from the song at all, and it's one of their best from an underrated album.
