carburetor problem 1981 cj 7?

1981 cj7 256 straight six.Installed a holley 2 br carb with new standard manual pump.Starts and idles no problem.Run it down the road go thru 1-2-3 gear no problem.Hit 4th run over 40 mph within just a few minute's and it will stall out and quit.Bowl has plenty gas.Put it on jacks run thru gears up 50 mph no problems run like a charm.Made every adjustment possible.Using clear gas filter(have replaced twice) do notice air bubbles in filter.Any one have any ideas.Thank You for all replies

fuel pump is pumping set for 6-7 lbs pressure

Update 2:

we have checked float level several times even after the stall.seems to be plenty of fuel at any given moment.had auto store owner check it said every thing was set right

    Fuel starvation in top gear, the bowl is running dry. By the time you check it, it has recovered. Try this; when reproducing the problem let off the gas for a count of three then give it gas again. It will briefly recover but then start to stall again. Solution. Raise the float level. you have it set too low.
