Was there any civil unrest in Ancient Egypt?

    Yes. During the intermediate periods of ancient Egyptian history. Foreign invaders, during the 1st and 2nd intermediate periods, known as Asiatics (i.e. The Hyksos) took advantage of Egypt when it was in disarray. These were seen as the dark ages by the ancient Egyptians. However, during the the 3rd intermediate period, there was a restoration in culture by the 25th Dynasty kings who were from Nubia. It's important to mention that with each reoccurring disorder in the Egyptian state, there was always a resurgence from the South. Southern Egyptians restored order and united the two Kingdoms under one ruler.
