Is this normal, or severe anxiety?
I was never really a social person growing up, with the exception of maybe a couple of people.
However, whenever I go out into crowds or just be around more than say a half dozen people for more than a couple hours, I have a tendency to get a severe migraine and feel sick to my stomach. I try to have fun, but my body can't physically handle going out and being around people. Is this anxiety-related or is there something else going on?

Well no, its actually something I have to.
I can't be around to many people and most people annoy me, so you could have what I do. But to be honest it's not un-normal. It could be that you've never really had a good experience with socializing, or you just haven't met the right people. Maybe it's because they're just not of interest to you. I know that I could never really keep my best friends for to long because either I would eventually get really irritated with them for some reason, we would argue alot, they would act stupid, or they would end up liking me, and that really bugs me because I tend to make my best friends the ones I feel no hormonal attraction to, mostly based on humor and interest of some kind. Lol sorry I'm talking about me but maybe this helped? I hope so :).

I am so happy, it was only a 35 minute drive ( 70 minutes total) but absolutely no sign of anxiety or panic i shopped till I dropped - brilliant! I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway
