"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone elses opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation." -Oscar Wilde "It is always a silly thing to give advice, but to give good advice is fatal." -Oscar Wilde "Keep your feet on the ground and your eyes to the sky." -(Remaining anonymous.) So... I totally didn't know my entire pen name could fit on here. Shows how observant I am at such things. Anyway, I'm a novelist, and about to publish my first book. I've written for a newspaper as well in the past. Hopefully soon I will also be able to get a sort of "license" (I'm not in a license-authorized field of study, but what I aim for is similar to) for becoming a computer technician. If at the very least a radio certification so I could have my own radio station. http://www.formspring.me/theealchemyst

  • Golden Retriever - 8 yrs old. HELP!?

My roommate has a wonderful golden retriever, male. He's a little big, but probably just a little over optimum weight. He has a bad hip, but recently he hasn't been eating too well. He vomits a lot. He's got the white pus in his eyes and nose, keeping him from smelling or hearing too well. I try what I can to tempt him to eat and do something besides sleep, to make him happy. The last two days he's barely eaten anything.

Any suggestions? Is there like a doggy allergy pill we can give him? We can't really afford veterinary care, so something that we can do at home would be best.

  • Is this normal, or severe anxiety?

I was never really a social person growing up, with the exception of maybe a couple of people.

However, whenever I go out into crowds or just be around more than say a half dozen people for more than a couple hours, I have a tendency to get a severe migraine and feel sick to my stomach. I try to have fun, but my body can't physically handle going out and being around people. Is this anxiety-related or is there something else going on?

  • So when's the wedding?

Between Bill and Fleur and Percy and Tonks? Now that we've pretty much got everything settled, I'm going to take advantage of the fact that we've got DC, OP, and DA. We should decide which are which on Formspring.

  • HP Crew: I think I may have found a new place. What are your opinions?

I'm trying to add it so it's a legitimate question. :)

  • DEAD PAW SUCKS. DON'T YOU AGREE?

Does anyone else hate it when they get "dead paw?" (My nickname for when the hand falls asleep.)

*Shakes hand furiously* IT'S REALLY HARD TO TYPE.

  • P&S How was your night?

The HP crew officially made my night tonight. I had a rough time previously, and I haven't been feeling too well lately, but just seeing them gave me a good laugh and it brightened up my evening. What about everyone else? Some good nights tonight?

  • Lexmark x2600 Productivity Studio and Scan help?

I installed my printer/scanner/copier a long time ago, and then all of a sudden my scanner stopped working. The laser works just fine, and it copies without a problem. The productivity studio (that's what the program is called for opening a scan on the computer, in case it goes by another name) just refuses to open. I've tried un-installing the printer/program and redoing it, and nothing seems to work.

Is there any way I can try to re-download this program, or something close to it, so that I can scan my files onto the computer?

  • A question for the older and the wise-- opinions?

Everyone always says that you wise folk always have the best stories from your lives, and I firmly believe this. They also say the wise know best... so I have to ask. They say teenage love is different than real love. (I'm told this all of the time from adults, and I realize they're pointing fingers at hormones.)

So, in your opinion, what is love in its truest form? (Love, not lust. I think that's kind of a given here.)

If you're a teenager and you're about to respond with "blah blah blah I'm in love", don't even bother answering.

  • Skipping my period every few months?

I've had my period for almost 6 years now, and so far I've skipped several months, especially lately. I know a few of them are due to stress, but also a possible hormonal imbalance. For example, in 2009, I skipped March, August, and November. This March I've skipped yet again due to stress. I'm not sexually active, so I've never seen it as much of a problem.

Got any advice on how to try to regulate myself? I've started eliminating some of the stresses in my life, so I'm expecting to get back into the normal swing of things soon, but yet I'm still leery if I'll just continue skipping, and if I do, if there's something more than a progesterone imbalance that I should be concerned about.

  • LADIES- how do you tell if your period is coming?

For example, do you mark it on the calendar, is it regulated by a pill/hormone meds, do you mark your mood swings or your diet? I'm basically seeing if there's anyone else like me who watches their chemical changes within their body. (Not just diet. The sound of a man's voice, sensitivity to touch, increase in smell sensors, etc. Those minute changes that happen when a woman is ovulating.)
