Laptop battery and power supply problem?

My toshiba laptop battery is in a very bad condition, it doesnt charge and it runs out of power so fast. if i plug the power supply into my laptop and if i set the power plant to high performance, the laptop works but the battery level starts to decrease unless if i change the plan to "power saver" where the battery starts to charge.

I also tried to remove the battery and plug the power supply but the laptop does not turn in.

so what is the problem??

Did you try following simple steps to see if your laptop can be fixed?

Remove the battery and charger/ac adapter/power cord from your laptop, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to discharge any residual current inside the laptop. This clears your RAM and is like a hardware reset. Replace the battery and charger/ac adapter/power cord and turn your laptop on.

Secondly attempt to boot in "safe mode". As it starts up press F8, the computer ask you if you'd like to start in safe mode. Highlight "safe mode" and press enter. See if your laptop works now.

If it still did not solve your problem. Did you check if it could be your laptop power cord or power source problem?Take the battery out and power on your laptop with the charger only. Make sure your laptop power jack and charger plug tip are securely connected. Did you notice the power jack loose? You can find laptop power jack on ebay. Fixing and soldering the power jack requires professional skill though. Also the charger green LED should be on. If your laptop is still off, replace the charger. The charger does not last forever. Consider buying a lifetime warranty charger online from topmic. They offer 30 days money back guarantee in case your original charger is not defective.

It sounds like your battery's dying. You said it yourself, it's in bad condition and can't hold a charge. You'll need to buy a new battery.
