How can I connect a PS3 to my VGA monitor?

I am planning on getting a PS3, but I do not have a TV. I just have a monitor with only an input for VGA. I'd prefer not having to buy a TV just to play PS3, so I wanted to know if there are any cables or anything along those lines that'll allow me to play PS3 on my monitor.

You will need an HDMI to VGA converter. HDMI is a digital signal and a VGA is analogy signal, a simply hdmi to vga cable won't work. the converter will allow you to connect the hdmi to the converter input and the converter will output the vga and sound.
