Seniors, why are some answers "hidden because of low ratings"?
When we all open them to see why?

I am not a senior citizen, but wanted to add something.
When any answer gets a lot of thumbs down, it automatically gets hidden. This does not always mean the answers are rude or bad. In many cases lately, many people are getting thumbs down from users who just don't like the askers and don't care if the answers are good or not.
Even people with multiple accounts will thumbs down people with different accounts.
So... don't just assume the answer is bad or rude.
I guess that's all I had to say.
Thank you.
LOL Did I mention someone may not like me? Haha!!

I suspect trolls and thumbs down!
I don't give thumbs down to anyone
that answers my questions nice or
not, they get a thumbs up or a nothing!
If they are rude to (me or any other Senior)
I just block them! That happened tonight
on a question I posted.!!
Someone that has many aliases and has
stalked me on answers for several years..
is back again with a new name.. we all know
the rules person!!!
But also Yahoo seems to thinks too many thumbs
down is bad for Yahoo so they hide the answers
with to many TD 's so that another poster who
clicks into that question will not see the negative
hidden answers as easily as the more popular ones.

I have just read through your first 12 answers and the twelfth one by "Breezy" was, up until then, the only answer stating a reason with any substance to it, or shows any validity.
There are people who hang out in the Health and Medical categories who will Thumbs Down any answer that is correct and has given the particular information that THE ASKER is asking for.
Sometimes the REAL best answer can have nine or more Thumbs Down. Yet answers that are signed up with "I am a doctor" or "I am a medical student" have nine or more Thumbs Up. However the information they gave is not what the Asker asked for/the answerer has gone off on a tangent or their answer does not give as much required information. These 'doctors' and 'medical students' are just trying to intimidate the other answerers and they do not want the Asker to see how much better other answers are to theirs.

I only TD if I strongly disagree with someone, and TU if I strongly agree or see that a good reasoning has been TD just for meanness of it or just because some activist or commie wants to see it hidden. To just kinda help balance things out that need it and deserve it.
I normally open them up just to see how childish the TD was or how stupid some of the answers were by trolls that may have caused the TD. But then again we always have to go back to those who just enjoy silencing others just for the simple fact of silencing others for such reasons as not being politically correct, or share in their communist views or party planks. I've seen many that are simply because the truth must really hurt. In real life we all have those kinds of neighbors that are nosey, get pissed off easy, nosey, hateful if they can't control others thoughts and actions, or hate to hear anyone speak a truth or word that they may disagree with. As with some, they will hate you and do anything they can to you in some negative fashion if you disagree with them in the least, they may even turn out to be tire slicers to poisoning your animals to spreading false rumors. Older people, especially the sheltered, aged spoiled trophy wives, the wealthier, and spoiled can be the worst or the worse. Acting out just like a thirteen year old kid with a paint can doing graffiti. lol

Do you spot what you've finished to me?!?! next time I see you you're gonna get a thumb down something, female! extra helpful believe it!

I think it's a humiliation tactic, myself. Problem is...the people who give those types of answers aren't really concerned about embarrassing themselves...and it's a good way to give the rest of us the choice of whether or not we want to see it. But yeah...I usually open them just to see what all the fuss is about...lol.

They are hidden because too many folks can't stand to see dissenting opinions. It's even worse when there is some real substance to the answer!

Because they have allot of TD's and the whack jobs who run YA want to shield this from everyone else.

Well, I do the same and open them up too. The answers are usually more extreme or just plain rude. At least that is what I've noticed.

Because the answers are crude or rude. I do not see how you can hide them yourself as someone stated. I rarely open them because I am not that interested.
