The only thing can think of is that it allows the recruiter to convince the kids to join with the tacit approval of trusted authority figures, like teachers and administrators, away from parents who might otherwise object to the kids joining OR might help them get a better deal for their kids.

If you are going to let private companies recruit in a High School then the military should be able to also. Any high school or college that takes federal funding should have recruiter allowed.

No Cons here. They are simply offering you a job right out of High school with enumerable benefits. With guaranteed pay, free medical care ,free housing , free food, free college, free world travel, lots of advancement opportunities, automatic built in friends to be made, you get to kill people. So What's not to like?

Now when you get out of High School you can go flip burgers or work at the car wash. Maybe you'd like that better.

The U.S. Military by law have every right to recruit at U.S. schools.

Those that don't like it, feel free to pack up and leave.

North Korea will welcome you with open arms.

The only ones I can think of is giving liberal yuppies and hippies a conniption.... Oh wait, that's a benefit. Nevermind, there are no cons.

Recruiters are like high school kids, they don't always tell the full truth. And kids are gullible and believe what grownups in costumes tell them.
