What is the definition of a religion and how does it differ from a cult?
Im serious, some people seem to think that anything that varies from their beliefs is a cult. What is the actual difference though?

A religion is any group which follows the laws of their deity. A cult is an off-shoot of a religion in which the cult leader becomes a human version of their deity in the minds of his followers. The cult leader often proclaims (and believes) that he is a prophet of God and holds such power over his followers that he can actually convince them to commit crimes for him, including murder.
