Are Xbox live gold cards region locked?

I wanted to buy an Xbox live gold card, but I found there are cards for different regions. Does it mean it is region locked?

Update:

Since my Xbox Live Account is registered under Singapore, should I get the Asian region or the Japanese region or any region would do?http://www.code4game.com/xbox-live.html

    Gold cards are not region locked. Microsoft Points cards are locked by country.
