Libertarians in the US.?

Can someone please explain to me why libertarians in the US seem to defend all civil liberties except homosexuality. Ron Paul, Ayn Rand, they all seem biased again just this one liberty. How come? In what way is it consistent with their other views?

This is what Ron Paul says about gay marriage. To me it is the most realistic point of view to have:

Paul said that he supported the right of gay couples to marry, so long as they didn't "impose" their relationship on anyone else, on the grounds of supporting voluntary associations. He also said, "Matter of fact, I'd like to see all governments out of the marriage question. I don't think it's a state function, I think it's a religious function." Paul has stated that in a best case scenario, governments would enforce contracts and grant divorces but otherwise have no say in marriage He has also said he doesn't want to interfere in the free association of two individuals in a social, sexual, and religious sense. When asked if he was supportive of gay marriage, Paul responded, "I am supportive of all voluntary associations and people can call it whatever they want."

I don't know about Ayn Rand but I follow Ron Paul closely.

Ron Paul has nothing against gay people. He philosophically believe the government should have no say at all in who can marry who. But pragmatically he thinks the issue should be left to state governments because that is what the Constitution says.

There are some libertarians who are against homosexuality and that is inconsistent with libertarian principles but hey not everyone is perfect.

Not true. Real Libertarians defend individual freedom of choice. Ron Paul has said many times that the government has no business in the marriage question and has also stated that gay people should have the right to marry.

And Ayn Rand was not a Libertarian. She didn't care for Libertarians.

Actually Libertarians do defend gay rights. People like Ron Paul have said time again they support a state's right to legalize gay marriage. Though they may be personally opposed to same sex marriage they do not impose their personal beliefs onto others.
