  • Vector Kinematics Question?

I have a hw assignment. I'm not sure if its correct or not?

An Astreroid is heading toward the Earth at a speed of 50 km/s. Astronauts attach a giant rocket to the asteroid giving it an acceleration of .0225 km/s/s perpendicular to its original direction. If the rocket is fired for 9 minutes, by what angle does the direction of the asteroid's velocity vector change?

    a) 9min * 60 sex *.0225 = 12.15 km/sec. arctan (12.15/50) = 13.658 degrees. Is this correct?

    b) What total distance does the asteroid travel during the 9 minutes the rocket is fired?

This one I didn't know what to do.

    Thanks in advance!

  • 1st Amendment and school prayer?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The 1st amendment can't be any more clear. It says Congress shall make no law. So why is voluntary prayer in school banned? If someone wants to say a Christian prayer in school they get in trouble. Federal laws against school prayer are an "abridging of the freedom of speech." Making people say a prayer would be a "law respecting an establishment of religion." No one is saying the schools should force you to pray. They are just saying if you want to pray then you can. This is an attack on the 1st amendment!

  • Do you agree that the United States is not a nation?

    1. The United States does not have sovereignty over making treaties with foreign nations. Because of the Reid v. Covert decision, the U.S. adds a reservation to the text of every treaty that says, in effect, that the U.S. intends to abide by the treaty, but if the treaty is found to be in violation of the Constitution, then the U.S. legally can't abide by the treaty since the U.S. signature would be ultra vires. A nation has to have treaty making power in order to be considered a nation.

    2. There is no head of State in the United States. The president is the head of government, not the head of State. The heads of States are the 50 governors. A nation has to have a single head of State to be considered a nation.

    3. There is no single body politic in the United States. Even the presidential election, is an election of the States, not the people. A nation has to have a single body politic to be considered a nation.

    4. Article IV, Section 2, Clause 2:

"A person charged in any state with treason, felony, or other crime, who shall flee from justice, and be found in another state, shall on demand of the executive authority of the state from which he fled, be delivered up, to be removed to the state having jurisdiction of the crime." There is extradition between the Nation States in America. Extradition only happens between sovereign Nation States, not internally in one nation.

  • Stuck on a Kinematics Problem?

Exactly 3.3 seconds after a projectile is fired into the air from the ground, it is observed to have a velocity = (8.3i + 4.6j )m/s, where the X-axis is horizontal and the Y-axis is positive upward.

    a) Determine the horizontal range of the projectile

b)Determine its maximum height above the ground.

c)Determine the speed of motion just before the projectile strikes the ground.

d)Determine the angle of motion just before the projectile strikes the ground.

  • How come liberals understand that prohibition of drugs doesn't work but think prohibition of guns will?

When you ban drugs, all it does is lead to more crime because of the black market. When you ban guns, it does the same thing and also leaves law abiding citizens defenseless.

Fact: Every single mass shooting (except for 1) was done in a gun-free zone.

If gun free zones makes people safer why isn't the Whitehouse a gun-free zone? Don't you want to protect your leader, your lord and savior Obama?

  • Do libtards actually not know what A WELL REGULATED MILITIA means?

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

The word "Militia" means everyday able bodied men (and women in today's context). Militia is NOT the regular army. A militia has always meant everyday people who are not part of the government. What the constitution is saying here is that everyday people having the ability to form a militia is necessary to the security of a free state because that is the only thing that can 100% protect against a holocaust. What is the biggest threat to the security of a free state? The government of course (just look at Red China and the USSR 166 million civilians killed by both governments combined)! You think it "couldn't happen here"? Need I remind you that Hitler was popularly elected by the German people?

A well regulated militia = everyday people

Purpose of the militia = defend the freedoms of the people from the government

Regular military = Army & Navy (Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard fall under Army and Navy)

Purpose of the military = defend America from foreign invaders

  • Why are leftists so obsessed with equal outcomes?

Don't you think equality before the law is more important?

It seems like a mental illness, like you would all rather be equally dirt poor, than let one man have a penny more than you.

Why can't you try to be the best you can be, and stop worrying about everyone else?

  • Why is it "unAmerican" to be pro-secession when America was born out of secession from England?

Patriotism is love for your country, and love for liberty, NOT love for the federal government (that has been captured by foreign mega-banks)

    15 AnswersPolitics9 years ago
  • Why is Secession always linked to supposed "Right Wing Extremism"?

Ever heard of the Hartford Convention and New England's call for secession in 1812 and 1814? If the USA were to break up, there would likely be liberal states seceding too. Maybe the Kingdom of Hawaii would come back, and there could be a Peoples Republic of California, and a UK commonwealth of New England. New Hampshire is one of the most liberal states that is always talking about secession.

Secession is an American Tradition, not a republican or democrat tradition.

  • A Parliament for the US House of Representatives?

Lets face it- the Two Party System in America is a scam. And the president has far too much power. The potus is de facto the commander in chief, the head of state and the head of government. Imagine a House of Representatives Parliament using a system similar to the Netherlands of a single district. So if 13% voted for the Libertarian Party, there would be roughly 13% of the House for Libertarians and so on. The House would then elect a prime minister, who would share power with the President. Also, the 17th amendment would be repealed, and the Senators would be chosen by State Legislatures. This way, Senators would look after States Rights and not kowtow to corporations. The electoral college would remain the same, but the President would have much less power. The federal government as a whole would have less power, too. California and New England could peruse their dreams of European Style Socialism, and conservative States could remain American. If you didn't like your State you could work to change it or move to one that better suites you. State Politics would be what most people are concerned about. People wouldn't squabble over abortion and gay marriage on the national scale, and would work it out in their own State. The Federal Government would be far more democratic and also far more "Federal" instead of National.

  • How come there is a Black Caucus but not a White Caucus in the USA Congress?

Why is it ok for black people to be racist but not whites? When will white people have the right to organize and look after white interests? When whites are a minority in 2040? When Whites are 10% of the population? When there are no White people left?

  • Would the UK rather be in the US or the EU?

I respect the UK and think they should have their sovereignty. I support Nigel Farrage and the UK. He is like the UK version of Ron Paul. But if you had to choose would you rather become a US state/4 US states (England, Wales, Scotland and N. Ireland). Your government could remain very much the same way it is. The constitution permits parliamentary republics and allows compacts between the states if congress approves (such as the UK). The only thing is you'd have to get rid of is the monarchy and the theocracy. OR would you rather be in the EU?
