Do you agree that the United States is not a nation?

1. The United States does not have sovereignty over making treaties with foreign nations. Because of the Reid v. Covert decision, the U.S. adds a reservation to the text of every treaty that says, in effect, that the U.S. intends to abide by the treaty, but if the treaty is found to be in violation of the Constitution, then the U.S. legally can't abide by the treaty since the U.S. signature would be ultra vires. A nation has to have treaty making power in order to be considered a nation.

2. There is no head of State in the United States. The president is the head of government, not the head of State. The heads of States are the 50 governors. A nation has to have a single head of State to be considered a nation.

3. There is no single body politic in the United States. Even the presidential election, is an election of the States, not the people. A nation has to have a single body politic to be considered a nation.

4. Article IV, Section 2, Clause 2:

"A person charged in any state with treason, felony, or other crime, who shall flee from justice, and be found in another state, shall on demand of the executive authority of the state from which he fled, be delivered up, to be removed to the state having jurisdiction of the crime." There is extradition between the Nation States in America. Extradition only happens between sovereign Nation States, not internally in one nation.

Update:

A national government is a government of the people of a single state or nation, united as a community by what is termed the “social compact,’ and possessing complete and perfect supremacy over persons and things, so far as they can be made the lawful objects of civil government. A federal government is distinguished from a national government by its being the government of a community of independent and sovereign states, united by compact. Piqua Branch Bank v. Knoup, 6 Ohio St. 393. [Black's Law Dictionary, Revised Fourth Edition, 1968, p. 1176]

Patrick Henry in Debates in the 1788 Virginia debates, stated on June 4, 1788:

" I have the highest veneration of those Gentleman,--- but, Sir, give me leave to demand, what right had they to say, We, the People? My political curiosity, exclusive of my anxious solicitude for the public welfare, leads me to ask who authorized them to speak the language of , We, the People, instead of We, the States? States are the characteristi

Your question is interesting, but your own answers reveal an unfortunate misunderstanding of law and government.

First, the United States central government has treaty making authority as granted in the Constitution (Art II, Sect 2). But the Constitution also states that it is the supreme law of the land. An act in violation of the Constitution is legally void. Therefore the Constitution prohibits unlawful treaties, not treaties in general.

Second, the president is the head of state as well as the head of government. The web site, US Legal, defines a head of state as "a person who serves as the chief public representative of a republic, monarchy, federation, commonwealth or other kind of state." http://definitions.uslegal.com/h/head-of-state/ The president of the United States fits that definition exactly.

Third, the body politic is the people of a nation, usually its citizens or subjects. There is no requirement that the people participate in the government or in selecting or ratifying the government. Many nations of the world are dictatorships of one sort or another in which the people have no say in governing the country. That alone does not disqualify a country from being a nation.

And finally, The United States is a federation composed of the voluntary union of 50 sovereign states. Each state has given up a portion of its absolute sovereignty to form this federation but retains substantial independence and authority. This right of the states is written into the US Constitution in various places. Although the US government is a creature of the states (and not the other way around), the central government has ultimate authority, through the Constitution, for governing the nation.

As an anarchist at heart, I never thought I would defend the US government in print, but what you assert is seriously flawed and demanded rebuttal.

Interesting question, and I would have to say that right now it's not. The Constitution has been violated to such a degree that some are calling it a "living" document, meaning they think they can change it as they see fit. No, the government works for us, WE THE PEOPLE pay their salaries, and they're supposed to do things how we see fit. A janitor, a nurse, and a farmer help pay the salary of our government, and they are bound by the Oaths they swore. If they violate those Oaths, they should be removed and replaced by those who WILL uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.

If a president has committed TREASON against these United States, he should be immediately charged and convicted of his or her acts of treason, spend some time in federal prison, and pay the appropriate fine, according to the U.S. Code. If anyone: members of the House and Senate, the media, or any private citizen, is aware that a person has committed Treason, and is silent about it, that person is guilty of Misprision of Treason. Given the current circumstances, that includes almost every politician, except for New Hampshire State Representative Harry Accornero.

WOW, you are stupid. Where did you get your definition of a state from, Carl Marx or Vladmir Lenin?

let me educate you and bring knowledge to your otherwise ignorant mind.

    Oxford dictionary

    nation; noun

a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular state or territory:

I don't see anything in your idea of a nation in that sentence

LOL! Okay, I'll play your game. 8^)

Milk is not a beverage. it says right in the bartender's handbook that a beverage has alcohol in it!

Children are not citizens, because they don't have the right to vote, and only citizens can vote.

Guns are not arms because everyone has two arms and some people have three guns.
