You make a good point; yes, the constitution gives states the right to suceede but even Lincoln went against the constitution by not allowing the south to rule themselves, as he wanted the income from taxing all that tobbacco and cotton, etc. I suppose. Since you asked so nicely, I will explain why.

The only proper function of a government is to prevent anyone else from taking control. The proper function of a citizen is to maintain control over his government. Therefore every proper citizen is by definition in rebellion against the government. This is not a problem as long as citizens trust each other a little. When the citizens stop trusting each other then the government starts treating all individuals as enemies.

Any state has the right to succeed for whatever reason they want. Many people don't know this, but in the 1860's the South had legally succeeded and it was accepted by the North. The Civil War only happened because the South attacked the Union at Fort Sumter.

I don't advocate succession however, and do not think it is necessary. The states need to start taking back authority from the Federal Government and stop abiding by unconstitutional laws. They need to kick all federal agents out of their state because they have no jurisdiction. In fact, they can be legally arrested by the country sheriffs because they are operating under the color of law.

People need to read the Constitution and research the subject of JURISDICTION because it is a key concept in all of these matters.
