How come liberals understand that prohibition of drugs doesn't work but think prohibition of guns will?

When you ban drugs, all it does is lead to more crime because of the black market. When you ban guns, it does the same thing and also leaves law abiding citizens defenseless.

Fact: Every single mass shooting (except for 1) was done in a gun-free zone.

If gun free zones makes people safer why isn't the Whitehouse a gun-free zone? Don't you want to protect your leader, your lord and savior Obama?

Update:

@marvinsu You are disgusting. Gun banning starts with gun registration. Government works through incrementalism. Today its gun registration. Tomorrow its taking away semi-autos. Then its all firearms. That is how they did it in every single country. What is really disgusting is how you try to make this is a collectivist guilt thing. That's like saying a driver killed a family with reckless driving, so now all car drivers should be guilty. You are a sick person for insinuating that ALL gun-owners caused the tragedies.

I agree this is exactly why gun bans don't work, criminals don't care about laws. Just look what happened when prohibition started, it also started ORGANIZED CRIME...If the guns are taken from the law abiding citizens and the criminals have the guns...that doesn't make much sense. You're right, the only mass shooting that wasn't a gun free zone was the Ft. Hood shooting. There is an entire industry that is weapons trafficking and it happens whether it's regulated or not; there's always a black market. They don't seem to regulate that market too well, since they can't track the gun until someone actually gets shot with it (Fast & Furious 2009 anyone?)

They want to re= make some old movies.about young drug addicts and alcoholics who want free stuff All they have to do to get it is help their government murder and rob people who are disarmed. They can be sure of easy pickings by using the kind of semi automatics Obama gave to the drug runners involved in the Fast and Furious Scandal, who killed so many at no risk to themselves because they knew they were disarmed and rendered defenseless.

You think they're so nice, right, but never forget for a moment that libs in China massacred 30 million property owners and look what they had and the ones. ln Russia they killed what was it, ten million, and the ones in Germany killed, what was it, 6 million plus the ones they starved to death in the winter....

? This is a re-run of the same movie except it is going to take place in America and they will be uslng real bullets..

Regardless of the law, there will always be illegal gun trades. Criminals, at least your hard core ones, do not buy guns on the open market usually. These mass murderers are not that kind of criminal and do seem to get their guns legally if they can. They do not care about covering their trail after their crime because they have no reason to do that. They know they will be caught. If we can stop some forms of crime that are too hard for society to bear, then that is what we can do. The illegal gun trade may increase, that is true. But it is not like we will ever stop that anyway.

It's pretty easy to brew your own alcohol or grow your own weed without getting caught. It's inordinately more difficult to build your own guns and ammunition. Gun control works very well in Australia.

I've never seen a "gun free zone" sign in my life. You've learned your partisan rhetoric quickly, although the facts are not in your favor.

Please take a look at this map of mass shootings over the past twenty years. Many in states with concealed carry.

Prohibition never works as they want more of a hunger for it that now it's illegal. Look at drugs, yet even though it's not hard to try and this would be a topic for the next decade.

Statistics is usually what I fall back on to make those kinds of distinctions.

Stats show drug wars don't work and that weapons bans, in the long run, do.

America's gun culture, of course, is unique. But in most societies where gun control is sanely practised, especially western societies, there's not a sudden epidemic of gun-wielding gangs arising everywhere. They also believe in professional police forces.

Of course, if you confiscated all the arms in the U.S. TODAY, only honest people's guns would be taken. But nobody has seriously suggested anything close to that in any way whatsoever.

My guess is by making them harder to get, this makes them more valuable. More value means higher prices. It may eliminate the low income psychopath from the market.

It will also lower the total amount of guns in circulation, it may have o affect early, but in 20 years I bet it does. They'll be less guns around for sure, because guns go bad becuse they're metal. By then there will be better technology too.

  • You are dishonest. You are pretending that the gun issue is about ownership and possession. That is false. Nobody denies the right to own guns. The issue is registration, licensing, qualifications, and weaponry. You just don’t want to be “well regulated”.

You are an irresponsible coward. You are afraid to have your name tied to the serial number and the rifling profile of your weapon. You are like the hit-and-run driver who wipes the blood off his bumper. You just don’t want to be “well regulated”.

You are a lying, irresponsible coward. You refuse to be “well regulated”.

Because we understand business , finance and economics and you guys don't

You guys seem to think that if the black market price of name semi automatic pistol is $ 10 K that small time criminals will easily able to buy them
