It's not that simple... You don't just call a number to register to hunt. You have to take a hunter's safety course, then apply for the hunting license. Depending on your state, you may not need a license if you are under a certain age.

However, simply telling her that you want to hunt and then leaving it up to her is mature.

Conservation efforts, population control, ensuring healthy herds for future generations, keeping traffic fatalities down due to deer looking for more food and crossing busy highways, fresh chemical and hormone free meat for your family that is better for you than store bought meat, you'll learn woodscraft and outdoor skills, you'll be more self sufficient, you'll be more confident, it will keep you from becoming another xbox zombie, outdoor activity is better for the brain than sitting around indoors. I'm sure you can add your own reasons to the list.
