    if u want a formula for solving this type of problems without having any knowledge of algebra;

    then

    fraction form=[(write numbers removing decimal point up to 1st occurrence of repeating digits) -- (write numbers before occurrence of repeating digits removing decimal point)]/[write no of 9s same no of repeating digits and no of 0s same no of non repeating digits after decimal point]

    for ur problem

    it is

    fraction form=(10754-107)/(9900)

    simplifying (10647)/9900

    =1183/1100

    Let x = 1.075454...

    100x = 107.545454....

    10000x = 10754.54545454

    10000x- 100x = 10754.545454... - 107.5454....

    9900x = 10647 {note all the .545454... up to infinity cancel out so we have a whole number now}

    x = 10647/9900

    That's a lot of nines, I'm going to experiment by dividing 10647 by 9 if it comes out to a whole number that will help simplify the fraction.

    x = 1183/1100

    hope this helps.

    take your number as X. Now multiply X wid 100.You get 100X = 107.545454...

    Next Multiply X wid 10000. You get 10000X = 10754.545454...

    subtract both . you get 10000X-100X =10754.545454..-107.545454..which means 9900X = 10647.

    so X is 10647/9900.

    basically in such questions you have to eliminate the repeating decimal by multiplying and subtracting suitably.

    and the choice of 100 and 10000 is because of this.

    sol'n:

    hmm....

    1.07545454545454545454545454

    1 + .0754 <---- 4 is in ten thousandths place

    1 + (754/10000) <---- therefore the 754 is divided by 10,000, zero in tenths place is not counted

    result is 1.0754, just add 545454 for infinity

    1 (754/10000).. change into improper fraction..

    1*(10,000)] + 754 = 10,754 <--- numerator

    then copy the denominator 10,000.. it will become (10,754/10,000) <--- answer

    Edit: lowest term, divide both numerator and denominator by 2... (5,377/5000)

    hope that helps! ;)

    I hope you learnt your algebra well.

    Let 1.075454545454 = x

    10000x = 10754.5454545454

    100x = 107.545454545454

    9900x = 10754.5454545454 - 107.5454545454

    = 10647

    9900x = 10647

    x = 10647/9900

    let x=1.07545454...

    multiplying both sides by 100,

    100x=107.545454... eq.1

    now multiplying by 100 again,

    10000x=10754.545454... eq.2

    now subtracting eq.1 from eq.2....

    10000x-100x=(10754.545454...) - (107.545454...)

    9900x = 10647

    x=10647/9900 = 1183/1100
