Islam on Slavery...........?

Whats Muslims view point on slavery. Mohammad (their perfect man and role model) took many, many slaves (he married a Jewish women (after murdering her husband, father and brother) and raped her on the first night), so thanks to this how do Muslims view slavery?

If they are against it surely they are condemning Mo's behaviour, indeed their GODS word as he gave Mo the permission to take Slaves.
