How to back up software programs on a Mac?

I have checked out a few popular online backup services and all of them say that they only back up music, photos, and documents...not software programs. I have a few expensive software programs on my computer which I don't want to have to purchase again if my computer gets damaged, lost, etc. Is there any way to back up EVERYTHING on my computer including software programs like Final Cut, etc.? If so, how? Thanks!

Use Time Machine provided on the Mac. It will do an initial backup of your complete system and than do incremental backups either as you select to do back up or even hourly if you want. You would need an external hard drive for the appropriate connections on your Mac (USB, Firewire, or Thunderbolt). I have been on Macs for 5 years now and have used Time Machine for the majority of that time. It is simple to use for both backups and for restoring.

Since the OS is not mentioned, be certain to read how to restore information for the Mac's particular operating system. I can't link that as the OS is not mentioned.

    See the link below.
