Thinking of traveling to Alaska in July to get out of the Florida heat?

but not sure if there is anything there worth seeing or doing? I would be staying about 7 or 8 days, and which would be the best city to fly into?

Yes Anchorage is the biggest city. I think the temperature there in July will probably be from the 60s to the 70s...but it definitely won't be as hot as Florida in July!! And since there are a bunch of mountains, a lot of people like to go hiking there. In Anchorage, Flat Top is a good mountain/thingy to climb and it's kinda easy. Lazy mountain is a good climb too but it's pretty stinkin hard. Every time you think you reach the top there's another huge hill thing to climb until you actually get to the top. Also the Butte is a good climb, it is NOT a mountain at all, it's like this huge hill thing. It's a pretty popular climb cuz it only takes about 45 min. to get up and down it. Anyway sorry this was so long! Btw there aren't many tourist attractions :) sorry

Anchorage is the biggest city in Alaska so you should head there first. After that you should do some hiking in the woods, maybe rock climbing, anything outdoors, and there are still mall and night clubs in Anchorage.

My wager is that she will have the potential to be working for Senator from Alaska in 2010. this way she would be in a position to't be criticized for neglecting her interest as Governor on an identical time as she is working for Senator. additionally her Lt. Governor, who thinks like she does, would be in a stable place to be re-elected Governor.

Try Australia or New Zealand it will be winter down there and the weather is great. July in Alaska is hot with tons of biting insects seeking your blood.
