    P= boxes of pens

    R=boxes of rubber bands

    24-P = boxes of rubberbands

    10P + 4(24-P) = 210

    10P + 96 - 4P = 210

    6P = 114

    P = 19 boxes of pens

    24-19=R

    24-19 =5 boxes of rubber bands

    Two equations, two variables.

    Let p=# of pen boxes

    let r=# of rubber band boxes

    p+r=24--> 4p+4r=96

    10p+4r=210

    10p-4p+4r-4r=210-96

    6p=114

    p=19 boxes of pens and 24-19=5 boxes of rubber bands

    Check work: 19*10+5*4=190+20=210
