Is there too much apathy in the Philippines about the problem of hunger?

According to a survey last year, the level of poverty increases. One family out of five in the country can't feed its children decently (perhaps more). Russia which is itself a poor country recently sent 30 tons of food for the recent disaster victims.

Is the government, the church and other bodies of the society too apathetic? Read this Philippine Daily Inquirer column

I am not blaming anyone, but is this question addressed properly in the Country, is this a national priority in your opinion?

yes. apathy by denial. the people most likely to effect positive change against this problem ( the few wealthy elite) will vehemently disavow that up to half of its population are malnourished and even starving. generations of poor starving children perform poorly in school and are the leading cause of the perpetual downward economic/political spiral and social immaturity.

Apathy , yes could be ...but the problem is "ignorance" about couples having many more children than they can afford . Poverty will increase as the population increases

Apathy. even as someone receives to that state you'd be fairly particular that this individual is now no longer emotionally redeemable. lack of information will be cured by using preparation of in spite of form.

To solve the problem it will need a tough decision. To learn how to tackle it can't be accomplish without a united solidarity from the people themselves. Note that what people says concerning laziness is as well true. I attest myself that this testify is true. Someone named Steven from tarlac originated from bontoc doesn't want to work but his wife whose related to me feeding him. He claimed to be an engineer of something but because he cannot find any job out of his expectation, though he can do something that pays he doesn't want, it's degrading. He's relying to the wife and from his mother in law whose in england and working as domestic, sending them money monthly. So why he should work. He smokes with the money of his wife and mother in law. He gambles and drink again, not his money.

Then there's another one name Juan from Nueva Ecija, doesn't want to work as well and it's his wife originated from Cebu whose feeding him, sleeping whole day and gambling.

So we cannot blame those filipinos who got the means to help others but they don't do.

How's possible when I was there I cannot find a servant, they'd rather die of hunger than having an earning where they can have their own money. In the end I found someone who worked for me come from Isabela but her purpose was to flirt to my husband, if she succeeds then my husband will leave me for her, she thought, she even invited her friend to help her flirting. The came home with a very very micro short already showing what they are hiding to achieve what they were concocting, if not my neighbours who opened my eyes I thought it's normal their way of dealing and dressing.

So back to your question if it's an apathy it depends how you see and others see.

I can help maybe in the near future but i cannot shoulder the world, it's the politicians and churches obligation. The filipinos mainly the men has to keep their heads on their shoulders, to tackle their own problems and not to rely to someones help.

filipinos always blame it on lack of education, really...who can afford education anyway? another reason is laziness, because for filipinos living in philippines, there's always a reason not to work. in other countries, when you dont work, you dont eat, and you dont live. here, people dont have to work and can still live. so many options to not work, either cheating, stealing, fraud, and a whole lot more. we have a lot of squatters, which occupies every sidewalk and street corners and claim it as their own. not even our government can do a thing to make them understand that they have to work for it to be able to claim it. in other countries, they shoot trespassers. thats why philippines will never improve
