Why are bananas yellow?

    Because they are not blue.

    The skin changes colour as the bananas ripen.

    Not necessarily, i've seen purplish and pinkish ones.

    But the common ones we see in the supermarket become yellow due to ripening and possibly due to the ethylene gas used to ripen them.

    Not all Bananas are yellow.There are red, green and yes the purple and brown.

    Because whatever pigment is inside them reflects yellow light, and absorbs all other colors of light.

    I don't really know if it'd be pigment or not but I think that's it.
