Why wont my DVD door open?

I have an HP Pavilion and it's a few years old. This morning the DVD drawer wouldn't open. It worked fine yesterday. It makes a few noises like it's trying to open, but it wont budge.

    just the same problem i had.just go to the corresponding drive in my computer, right-click and select eject. It works!
