What is called as "Dating"?

dating is nothing but trying to understand your life partner (would be)

why date: the present generation feel that , in the arranged marriages , the compatibility (of groom and bride/girl vs boy) factor is never looked into , , and feel the problems araise due to lack of proper understanding between the wife and husband therefore they want to understand the likes dislikes of each other etc , compatability etc , it is in a way a long interview by the girl to the boy and vice versa

a culture or against culture :: as far as our culture is concerned it is NOT , but if you think in terms of Western culture it is perfectly ok

added: personally i do not understand (may be due to my orthdox thinking) the sanctity of dating because, to a bachelor every girl looks beautiful and every word of her sounds sweet and vice-versa

secondly in western culture , once they complete studies and start earning , the children are on their own , no guidence required in choosing anything , whereas in hindu/indian culture the bonding between the parents and children is lifelong/ forever

What Is Called Dating

I date someone because I like them.

Dating is not against culture as I know of.

Dating is both a good and bad thing. The good thing is you have a girl/boy. the bad thing is they may dump you.

When you go on a "Date" ... it is usually with a person of the opposite sex, you may go to the movies. Or Dinner and the movies. For Lunch. Perhaps you may go for a concert. It is meeting this person for conversation, getting to know each other and usually somebody you are attracted to. It is not a bad thing and can be fun. It may develop into something more serious or the two people concerned may decide they are just going to be good friends and see each other on that basis ,,, or they may have nothing in common and decide to call it a day. If you are a young teenager then please just decide to enjoy your young years and have a platonic relationship and just be friends until you meet somebody you would like to see more of. That may come when you are a bit older. Life is so much fun and life's experiences can be fun too. Enjoy your life young man.

Dating means when girl & boy falls in love with each other, the go to different places to roam & knw each others behaviour.It is not against the culture but it is people's opinion to take it in good or bad way.

Dating is that magical experience where you make yourself nervous and jittery and skitzo trying to turn a stranger into a child hood friend or sex slave or whatever your end game might be. it is currently still a culture, and its culture is determined by the culture participants come from. it is terrible and it is amazingly wonderful. to be perfectly honest, dating is like confidence, you could say what ever you want about ti, but the only time you really know what it is is when you see it. not trying to sound preachy

If a boy and girl counsel each other for sometime to assess their suitability for marriage it is called dating .There should be no objection .But some youth cross the limit .They have sex and even have kids .This "forces" a marriage or "living together" .

Dating with limited restraint is useful .Dating must begin only when boy and/or girl is earning not still learning. .

Dating should be serious not for time pass.

Date means romantic meeting. If if is under control within decency then it is good, but if it cross the limits and involves vulgar and derogatory behaviour in a public place, then it is bad.

Dating is en interview for marriage like an interview for a job where a girl and a boy interviews each other trying to read & impress each other. It is common in western countries & has crept in to India in recent years specially in modern & advanced families.

i am sure, it's a good thing because can get a chance to know each other nearly before involved in any kind of relationship.
