now we have "decolonization" to blame for the Sudan split; I guess it really had nothing to do with the Nile River and the way the Russians built the dam in Egypt? First time I ever saw an answer whereby "decolonization" was the demon. What's next? "Go back to Colonies?"
You must consider in part the water ~ water is the flow of life everywhere and the most taken for granted commodity. Religion/faith was certainly part of the split but there is the water and the ability to allow people to live and grow. Take a deeper look in your text and I am certain that it is there.

Sudan is a country ruled by Arabic
Muslims. But the vast majority of South
Sudanese people either practice traditional
religions or follow Christianity, and are not
Arabic. The only reason they were in the
same country in the first place is European stupidity during Post World War II
Decolonization.
