Am I crazy, or do I have a point?

I think that there is an unacceptably large portion of the population is devoted to commercial interests, rather than scientific developments, which are the sole engine pushing society forward. The concept of obedience being incorporated into schooling may be a factor in this, as it is a skill most prominent in commercial industries... Am I crazy?

If you ask: "Am I crazy?", ... you're not.

(That's practically an axiom in psychology.)

    You are somewhat confused though.

In our capitalist society, 'commercial interests' are what feed,

shelter, and maintain us, (at least in theory), and are what provide

the the capable few, the lesure to make scientific advances.

(You spend a lot less time at the drawing board if the pizza delivery doesn't show up.)
