Can i have convicts in a 10 gallon?

I am wondering if i can keep any convict cichlids in a 10 gallon tank, or maybe a yellow lab? If not, what other kinds of cichlids? Thanks It will have right Ph and good filtration and heater

Update:

I don't want to breed, could i have 2 females or 2 males?

Update 2:

I would do shell dwellers because i have heard of them before, but i can't find anywhere to get them!

I would be looking at 20 gallons minimum for convicts and no you cant keep yellow labs either

Some Tanganyika shell dwellers which are dwarf cichlids would be ok in 10 gallons

If you want a higher pH and harder water, you could do a really cool small shell dwelling cichlid tank! They are small and interesting cichlids from Africa that make their dens in shells.

Convicts would most certainly outgrow the tank. It would be cruel to keep any number of convicts in a 10 gallon for any extended period. Yellow labs get a bit too large as well. Some of the smaller rams (Papiliochromis ramirezi) can do OK for a while, especially if the tank is well planted. Ideally even the smaller rams would have a 20 gallon long.

Yes, Convicts will even breed in a 10 gallon, about the only cichlid that will. You should not put more than the breeding pair in a 10 gallon, however. You could put a pair of Rams in a 10 gallon as well. Also Apistogramma Cacatuoides.
