    It is easiest to put the equation in slope intercept form. y = mx+b

    Solve for y.

    x=3y

    divide each side by 3

    y = x/3

    Now you can solve for values. Make a table.

    x y

    0 0

    3 1

    6 2

    Now you can plot the points (0,0), (3,1), and (6,2). It will be a straight line.

    You can see what it looks like in the source link below.

    Y= X/3 or 1/3 * X. So to graph start with X=0, Y then equals 0. First point (0,0)

    then X=3, Y=1, (3,1)

    then X=6, Y=2, (6,2)

    X=9, Y=3, (9,3)

    The pattern, SLOPE, M is = 1/3. Raise over Run! For 1/3, you go up (y-axis) 1 digit and across (x-axis) 3 to graph the next point.

    graph y= x/3

    draw a line going through these points (-3,-1), (0,0), (3,1)
