What media players are available, and which is best?

I am considering buying a new media player. Ive had an Mvix for years but it doesn't play everything.

What are some options for good media players. I would prefer a wireless connection to my laptop. (I do not have a wireless network set up at my home, so it has to be just between my 2 laptops and the device.)

I would prefer something with a built in hard drive but will still consider a host that I simply plug a USB device into. Which is better?

I have the Western Digital TV Live box which has wireless for 26 apps (Netflix, Pandora, etc.) and a USB jack for media files on a flash drive.

I have NOT tried connecting it to my computer for streaming so ... do some research before you buy.

Roku 2 is another popular box but there have been complaints about the wireless not being as powerful as the older Roku XDS box. One guy is adamant that the XDS is a better device.

Go over to the EngadgetHD site and search for "Media Servers" and you will find mention and reviews of lots of different media players.

    Hope this helps.
