Would a chain from a 500w to a 1kva UPS work? See details?
Power supply is very unstable where I live. I have 2 batteries of 200amp each and a 500w inverter. Most of the time this is enough to keep my pc running, but every time the pc has a power spike it draws more than 500w and the inverter cuts out. The inverter also gets quite hot while my pc is running off of it.
So if I purchase a generic 1kva UPS and put in between the inverter and pc will it solve the issue? Or should I buy a bigger inverter and no UPS? My concern with the inverter only option is that inverters don't always switch over to battery fast enough to keep the pc running.

1 AnswerEngineering6 years agoCan I export file names to excel?
I need to cross check a list of 2000 drawing files against the list of required drawings to make sure that everything is there. Instead of checking them one by one I was hoping I could somehow create a list of all the drawings (files) in the folder in excel automatically so that I can do a vlookup or something like that.
1 AnswerSoftware8 years agoPhone "thinks" headset is still plugged in?
I have a Nokia Lumia 925. Recently I plugged a wired headset into it and now it simply doesn't "work" without the headset. When making or receiving calls there is no sound and the person on the other end cannot hear me. However if I plug in a headset again or switch to speaker it works fine. It also wont play music through the phone speakers at the moment but only through the headset.
I have plugged the headset in and out a few times and I restarted the phone a few times. Does anyone know what I need to do?
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans8 years agoSolve this equation for largest possible whole number?
I am working out a packing system where panels are packed on pallets. One type of panel is used in 2 different assembled units. Unit 1 uses 3 of these panels and unit 2 uses 4. Units are assembled in batches of 60, thus 180 panels for unit 3 and 240 panels for unit 2. What is the largest packed batch size for a pallet so that there will be no remainder of loose panels after assembly regardless of which unit is assembled?
I know 60 works well but I am interested to know if there is a larger number that will also work as the larger the batch size the lower my overall long term costs work out to

2 AnswersPC8 years agoMadden 13 player control question?
I finally got a copy of Madden 13 and I'm loving it. Haven't played a Madden game since Madden 10. But I feel something is amiss in career mode. I remember in 10 player control shifted to the ball carrier even in career mode regardless of which position your character is.
Do I have some setting selected incorrectly or did they just change that feature?
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games8 years agoWhat engine should I use?
I am building up a classic car with modern technology under the hood. Looking for advice on which engine would work nicely. Space is very limited so it has to be physically small. 4 Cylinder should be good. What engines are viable options and will give me good power, reliability and consumption. I am willing to slap on a turbo, hoping to get good acceleration, not too worried about massive top speed. Do not want to put in a rotary motor.
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoHow can I turn my laptop into a wifi hotspot?
I heard it was possible to do this but I have no idea how. My laptop has a 3g based internet connection. It is achieved through a plugin 3g dongle. I want to make use of this connection with my phone but I do not want to have to purchase a wifi router. How do I set up my pc so that the phone can connect to it using wireless. Its a Samsung Galaxy Note and Windows 7 Home Premium (32bit)
1 AnswerComputer Networking9 years agoCan I make pc internet connection available to phone?
I have a Gigabyte laptop running Windows 7 basic and a Samsung Galaxy note phone. The internet on my phone is severely limited but I have uncapped internet on the laptop. Is it possible to use either wi-fi or bluetooth to make the phone use the laptop's internet connection? I have tried setting up an ad-hoc network on the laptop but that didn't work. I do not want to buy a wifi router.
3 AnswersOther - Internet9 years agoCan anyone help with this movie's name?
I'm trying to remember the name of a movie.
The main character is a teacher who in his spare time protests the death penalty. His friend and fellow protester is then found murdered and he is found guilty of the crime and given the death penalty. While on death row he has a series of interviews with a reporter who he requested to write a story on him. (Don't particularly want to write the ending of the movie and the twist so as not to spoil anything if someone reads this later on)

2 AnswersCar Audio9 years agoWhat media players are available, and which is best?
I am considering buying a new media player. Ive had an Mvix for years but it doesn't play everything.
What are some options for good media players. I would prefer a wireless connection to my laptop. (I do not have a wireless network set up at my home, so it has to be just between my 2 laptops and the device.)
I would prefer something with a built in hard drive but will still consider a host that I simply plug a USB device into. Which is better?
1 AnswerHome Theater9 years agoat 236kbps how long would it take to download 20GB?
I am currently comparing two mobile internet packages. One package offers me uncapped ussage but throttling to 236kbps after 3GB of usage. And another full speed (14.4Mbps) but the maximum usage per month is 20GB.
The cost of the two packages is exactly the same but the 20GB option does not include a modem
Which one is truly better?
