Can I make pc internet connection available to phone?
I have a Gigabyte laptop running Windows 7 basic and a Samsung Galaxy note phone. The internet on my phone is severely limited but I have uncapped internet on the laptop. Is it possible to use either wi-fi or bluetooth to make the phone use the laptop's internet connection? I have tried setting up an ad-hoc network on the laptop but that didn't work. I do not want to buy a wifi router.
Smart, can you please explain how?
I have a 3g dongle plugged into my pc which is how I connect to the internet. Basically I want to set up my pc as a wifi hotspot that my phone can connect to but don't know how.

when you set up the ad-hoc network can your phone detect it? and/or does your laptop have bluetooth?

If your phone can search for wi-fi and you have wifi & know the password etc then all should be good. I have an iPhone and can use my Internet wifi on my phone and vice versa. You usually can just look for it in your settings, I don't know your phones set up so I can't tell you if it has a wifi locator or how to get there. Sorry! Good luck :)
