Why is Bob Beckel on ''The five''? He's the biggest a$$hole on that show.?

He offers nothing to the show, and is always looking into the camera.Very annoying.

    I love "The Five" but it would be boring without Beckel. It's obvious he was hired to be exactly the kind of character he is... a lovable curmudgeon. Behind the scenes he is friends with everybody... Right and Left. Being grumpy is Beckel's "schtick."

    What he offers is a different viewpoint from what the other 4 do, whether you agree w/him or not. It's designed to be both an entertaining and thought-provoking dynamic.

    i don't much care for him either, but from what i have seen and read, he believes what he says.
