I have to do a project for Women's History Month, who do I choose?
At the end of February, I have to begin a project on a woman who has made a significant contribution to American history.I want to do my report on somebody that nobody else is going to do. I want to tell my classmates about somebody they don't already know about. Sure, Marie Curie and Hellen Keller are amazing women, but every person has heard of them. Last year, I did a report on Nellie Blye ( a.k.a Elizabeth Cochran ) and I found her really interesting, if that happens at all.. Any ideas?
Thanks. :)
yes, yes I know this is Black history month.
But next month is women's, and we're starting at the end of February.
And everybody knows who Rosa Parks is.
Everybody.
Catherine Janeway? Dude, I love you. I won't do her for the project, but you're amazing

What about Susan B Anthony? She was a Quaker, born in the 1800s and was involved in women's suffrage, or Calamity Jane. A woman in a man's world. I think her surname was Cannery.
There are many American women who have influenced others and therefore helped shape American history, that you could use:
Amelia Earheart
Annie Oakley
Mother Mary Jones
Rosetta Wakeman
Elizabeth Stanton
Good Luck!

Rosa Parks - refused to give up her seat and forced the re thinking of segregation in America
Virginia Apgar - invented the Apgar score which is invaluable when assessing new born babies condition at birth
Ruth Handler - invented Barbie ! I'd go for this one, Barbie is all over the World she's been an air hostess, a doctor, vetinary nurse, a mermaid etc etc and is probably found in most homes too.

February is Black History month. Do Rosa Parks. Your classmates may not know her, but their grandparents might remember.
