Female sex cells, or by the scientific term, Gametes, are formed in the female ovaries. Male sperm cells are formed in the testicles of a male. both carry 23 chromosomes.

Male: Sex cells (aka gametes/germ cells) form in the testes in males through the process of spermatogenesis.

Female: Sex cells are present in a woman when she is born already. However, they are developed through the process of oogenesis and are released into the oviduct for possible fertilization to occur.

    lol @ the first post.

Sperm cells come from the male testicles and Gamates (Female sex cell) comes from the woman's ovaries. A baby will develop having 23 chromosomes each from the paternal and maternal side.
