    Wtf's with the first answer?

Anyway, i love it! James is my all time favourite male name, and i would love to use Jem as a nickname. I first saw it years ago when i read the Anne of Green Gables series, and her little boys is named James with the nickname Jem.

I think it's a precious nickname, and it definitely works. I've seen it in a few books, although i'm yet to meet an actual person with the name. Which is probably good anyway- Jem is a lot more unique then Jamie.

I like Jem out of To Kill a Mockingbird too. He's my favourite character.

    Good luck!

    :)

I did not fit into my family either, and for some of the same reasons. First of all, you need to look at yourself with love and not criticism. You are probably an emotional eater, and we are sad or depressed, we eat. Find your happy place (inside of yourself), every time you feel inferior to your family, go to your happy place to feel better. Next, you may need help to lose weight, Weight-watchers is a supportive place where you will not feel like an outsider. Good luck

Mr. First Answerer's confused. Like, seriously? WTF, this isn't the section for overweight/obese people.

    Yes, Jem sounds appropriate.
