7K/ M from the earth surface. Since the temperature beyond that is very high we have not yet developed drilling toll to work in such a high temperature. The inside the earth can be judged when we analyse the seismic waves from other side of the earth during earthquakes. Different medium transmits the wave differently. That is how we use non destructive method to asses the quality of gold.
