Why do some 'learned' scientists actually believe not qualifying as a 'planet' is all Pluto's fault?
I asked a question regarding the planet Pluto's expulsion from the solar system by the IAU and sure enough I got a pile of diatribes and rants from the anti-Pluto lobby.
One respondent insinuated that it was ALL Pluto's fault that the IAU found discrepancies in Pluto's claim to plant hood. The respondent even went so far to imply that Pluto through guile and deception presented itself as a planet thus committing and act of fraud by impersonating a planet.
Hey! You can't hang THAT rap on the planet Pluto.
Pluto was minding it's own business one day in 1930, happily going along in it's orbit where BINGO
Pluto was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh as A PLANET.
Pluto never did anything dishonest.
Some of those rants I received are absolute insults to the integrity of the planet Pluto, and again some were wordy and lengthy like a doctoral thesis.
Once a celestial body got declared as a planet, IT SHOULD REMAIN AS SUCH.

Don't get upset we know Pluto is still there doing its stuff in the Universe. There it was going about its own business not wanting anything from this world yet it was named a planet and a decades later it was demoted. Astrologically Pluto proved its own demise. Pluto is still going about its own business and we love you Pluto.

What about Ceres? Ceres, Pallas, Juno and Vesta were discovered in 1801, 1802, 1804 and 1807, each was assigned a planetary symbol, and all four remained listed as a planet in astronomy books and tables for about 50 years until they were demoted to asteroid. The 2006 debate surrounding Pluto and what constitutes a planet led to Ceres being considered for reclassification as a planet, but instead they made up another new classification, dwarf planet. Just because Pluto is more famous you seem to think you can just cast the others aside. Shame on you.

Your claim is like saying we name all domesticated animals humans because they live with us, but regard all other non domesticated animals of the same species as animals.
Let the Pluto thing go IT'S BEEN EIGHT YEARS! Holy grudge Batman!
Also what kind of science do you know of where they make special exceptions to new data just to keep their old hypothesis true? The answer is a big fat zero, because ALL science changes it's views in light of new information. They don't roam around and just be strong headed and say, "Ugh, no I was right" like children. My advice is grow up. That or learn how SCIENCE works.

It wasn't expelled from the solar system.
Physically, Pluto hasn't changed at all.
It was simply re-classified, as our understanding and discovery of objects in our solar system grows.
