How do you put on eyeliner??? IT HURTS!?
Okay, so I TRY to put on eyeliner, but it hurts. Where exactly do you put it, and what brand/type is best?

L'oreal Eyeliner is the best, for sure! If your finding the pencil pressing down on your eye painful then you should try liquid eye liner. Liquid eyeliner is SO MUCH easier to apply and it doesn't hurt at all! As for where you put it on you basically just line your eye with it...the top of your lids and the water lines.

Here's a website showing you how:

if none of these things help find a video on Youtube.

What manufacturer eyeliner is it? The low priced eyeliners have a tendency to be "stale" and do not follow effectively, notably at the waterline. I recommend gel liner. It's creamy eyeliner that you simply use a broom to use it with. Or purchase a greater great eyeliner pencil. The mini pencils from Sephora (approximately $three-five every, I omit) waft on easily at the waterline and final all day. They're no longer stale in any respect. That's what I use!

Eyeliner does not hurt.
You don't put it under your upper lashes or on top of your lower lashes (right next to the eye).
Go to youtube or look up beauty sites online or even books to help you. You can also go to makeup counters and ask them.
I prefer liquid eyeliner over a pencil however I use a pencil if I want to smudge it. Any label will do. I don't spend a lot of money...you don't need to.
And...you don't have to wear it if you don't want to.

Eyeliner shouldn't hurt. Is your eyeliner new? Sometimes, when eyeliner pencils are too sharp, it hurts to apply it. Just dull it out A LITTLE BIT and it should be fine.
It could also be that you're not applying it at the correct areas. Don't apply it too close to your eyeball, it'll hurt. Line your eye at the waterline or a bit lower than it.

if it hurts when you put it on that probably means your trying to put it on the inside line of your eye you want to put it on the bottom under your lashs up to the outside edge of the eye but NOT on the pink line that will hurt and on the top the line right above your eyelashes there are a lot of good brands it just depends on what works best for you I use rimmel london and sometimes just a pencil stick thru wet and wild

There really isn't a better brand! (I use Cover GIrl Retractable) I put mine right above my eye lashes on my eye lid and don't press just lightly glide it over ur eye. On the bottom i put mine right under the eye lashes (don't make it to thick) and if you are still having trouble get on youtube and look and watch videos! Putting on eye liner should not hurt a bit! good luck: ) Here is a link that i found to be the best video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_bJQdOd1hc

Where are you putting it?
It either goes on your lid, or your waterline.
If it's hurting you then perhaps it's the brand that's irritating you. I use L'oreal HIP and Kat Von D wing eyeliner, I have pretty sensitive eyes.

I use Maybeline Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner for my lids, it's very easy with practice and looks wonderful as well as stays all say. For the bottom I use a lighter pencil

Start by only putting it on your top lid, above the lash line. Try the crayon-type instead of the liquid-type...the liquid type is more likely to smudge into your eye and be irritating.
If your eyes are sensitive, then don't put it above your lower lashes. (also, putting it there can make your eyes look small).

you can put it on Your water line or directly under your eye where your bottom eyelashes are, i suggest cover girls eyeliner but not the pencil.
