parking brake light stays on?

I have a 1999 dodge dakota. the parking brake works correctly. releases and engages fine. but the parking brake stays on all the time. ive hooked up a diagnostic tool to see if sensors are messed up but i have no DTCs at all. anyone know how to remedy this or know where to start? ive looked at the release sensor under the dash and it seems to work fine.

This light is called a "Brake warning light" (not a parking brake light) There are ONLY 2 reasons this light will come on (without the amber ABS light) and that is for a loss of hydraulic pressure on either side of the system, OR the parking brake is applied.

Unplug the pressure switch on the combination valve. If the light goes out there is either a pressure imbalance condition or the switch is stuck. Be sure to bleed all the air from all four wheels then retest.

The light switch for the parking brake is out of adjustment or the switch has gone bad. It's need to be adjusted or replaced.
