Is this poem bad for school?

In my english class, my teacher said we had to write a weather poem.It has to have alliteration, metaphor, and simile and personification.....

It comes form the dark blue sky

Lunging at you

Like an excited dog

It grabs the city by surprise

Chasing you down the town

Cracking the ground

With his almighty

golden strikes

Like yellow lamp posts flickering

Its here, Its there

Lightning lights the light blue sky

And leaves you only

With the echos of his strikes.
