Why do people call me goth?

Almost every day at school, people call me goth. Normally I don't care what people think but now they get the impression I'm weird and I can't make any friends. Some say it's my music tastes, others say it's my looks and others say it's who I am. Some call me goth because I'm an Atheist.

I listen to industrial music like Rammstein, Marilyn Manson and Deadstar Assembly, but I also listen to Type O Negative, The Cure, Switchblade Symphony, and Cradle of Filth. But I also like Three Days Grace and Linkin Park and J-rock. I have a very open taste to music, besides country, rap and things that are mainstream like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Justin Beiber.

I like to wear baggy cargo pants, boots, wrist bands, black shirts, but I also wear COLOR. I don't only wear all black.

I'm an outgoing, funny person, and I'm also empathetic and sensitve. I can easily tell what other people are feeling. I am not depressed by any means, I rather love my life. I love to dance, and I sometimes have a short-temper but I'm generally really nice to everyone.

I have always stayed away from stereotypes and large crowds of people. I'm not very open about my personal life, but I do like to voice my opinions which tends to be very different than most people I know. I enjoy old, classic horror movies/stories, being out at night time, graveyards, gothic art, and most things that people find "dark", "spooky" or "different". I love victorian clothing, architecture and furniture too.

I don't appreciate what society feeds us, the lies and the **** like that. I easily accept life as simply living and dying instead of being afraid of death. I'm not obsessed with death either, lol.

Please don't lecture me about "it's just a phase". I've always been this way. Please don't call me "emo". I hate emo, and it's a music genre after all.

Please don't tell me about how goth is not a label; I understand this. I know it's a lifestyle not a fashion statement.

authentic Goths are component of an surely subculture, which incorporates a love of and pastime in literature besides as music, and has a concentration on getting to understand and mind. maximum of them do no longer suggestions interior the slightest no rely if or no longer they get stated as 'Goth' {do exactly no longer ever call them 'Emo'!}. it rather is in simple terms the wannabes who gets all under pressure and demand that they be stated as 'goth', because of the fact they're so wanting to make human beings have self belief they seem to be a factor of the subculture, whilst in reality it rather is in simple terms the main present day 'vogue' to take their fancy...

Some of the music you listen to as well as what you wear may be a phase, but I can assure you you're not Goth unless you call yourself Goth and delve into the culture extensively.
