How do I advertise my website on the internet?
I have put together a website because I want people to know they can help themselves. That there are lots of books etc and I wanted these to be in one place for they're easy for everyone, who needs them, to find. But I'm not sure how to advertise helpmefindmyself.info besides search engines. Can anyone help me?

Well, search engines is the most widely used way and for good reason, it works.
Adwords from Google is king of the hill but it will cost you per click.
Another good thing to do is add a tag line to the bottom of all your emails with the link and a short quote of what it's about. Posy on Face book and twitter. If you can find other sites in common with yours they may allow you to put up banner ads (either for pay or for a banner on your site).
