difference between 700c and 29er wheels?
I bought a hybrid frame, it takes 700c wheels. Can I use 29er mtb wheels? if not, whats the difference?
Forgot to add, the frame has disc brake tabs.

700c and 29" wheels are the same diameter. It isn't the wheels, it is the size of the tires. 29" tires will fit on 700c rims. If your frame doesn't have enough clearance 29" tires will rub on the frame. Old Hippie is wrong

The 29" tires will fit a 700c rim. That doesn't mean that you can put very wide tires on very narrow rims. There are limitations to what tire width can go with what rim.
Measure the distance between the drops. I am not sure they are the same width. Also, road hybrids have narrow forks that may not accommodate the fat tires.
Why would you want fat tires in a hybrid? Is it too fast and you want to slow it down? Or do you want to take the hybrid up in the mountains and speed down hill?

You may run into tire clearance problems with 29er tires. A would get a set of hybrid wheels and use cyclocross tires.

The 29er and the 700 Tire use the same Rim - 622 period !
The 29er is made for mountain Bike use, 700 is for road use
As with the 26" mountain you will see 26x1.5 - 26x 1.9 - 26x 2.1 etc. The same for the 29 x 1.9 - 29x2.1 etc.
As with the 26" rim the 622 rim made for the 29er tire can be found in a narrow to wide (bead to bead) widths
The 700 rim (622 rim) , the rim width is designated with the old French standard of 700a 700b 700c. The "C" being the narrow, and the "A" being the widest.
If to want to use the 29er tire, you better check for frame clearance ! = 1.9, 2.1, 2.25 etc. A Mountain Bike with 29 tires is made for a taller and fatter tire.

wheels will prob be too wide for the brakes
you have to try it to see
the tires maybe too wide and or too tall for forks, frame etc
you may have meant 'tires' instead of 'wheels;
