Any recommendations for fantasy book series/novels?

I read mostly fantasy and adventure series. I prefer longer series with many books and characters, but I don't mind shorter ones or just stand-alone novels either. I have read a lot of good stuff over the years and am afraid that I've run out of reading material.

The things I've read recently include:

"The Malazan Book of the Fallen" series by Steven Erikson

"The Prince of Nothing" and "Aspect-Emperor" trilogies by R. Scott Bakker

"The Chronicles of Thomas Covanent, the Unbeliever" by Stephen R. Donaldson.

"A Song of Ice and Fire" series by George R. R. Martin (I got kind of bored with this series, actually.)

I've also read authors like David Eddings, Mercedes Lackey, David Keck, Tad Williams, and Ian Esslemont. When I was younger I used to read Tamora Pierce's works as well, so if there are adult equivalents of those I'd like those too. I've read almost everything by these authors and am looking for new stuff to read. Or old stuff; I like older books as well. And before you recommend this, I have read "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy and "The Hobbit" but anything similar is welcome.

I like epic fantasies that are set in crazy new worlds that are complex and exist in their own universe that will be completely different from mine, but things that are set in actual historic areas are good too. Also, they don't need to be about heroes using magic to kill dragons or heroes doing something to save something else; they can be about anything at all. They just have to captivate me and fill me with wonder.

They also don't have to be new books that are newly written/currently being written and they don't have to be books that were written 30 years ago. Just pick whatever you like. Any recommendations?

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightning Thief: The Graphic Novel (Percy Jackson & the Olympians) by Rick Riordan is one of the more original fantasy books that I've come across in a while. It takes something that most people are interested in (mythology) and puts an updated fantasy spin on it. The premise is that the Greek gods are still active and up to their old tricks (including having children with mortals), and that our hero Percy is the child of one of these gods. Unfortunately, the gods' children don't have it easy and often have to fight off monsters that can sense their demi-god status. Because of this, there is a camp for them where they can receive special training that might just help to keep them alive.

The books of Pellinor, by Alison Croggon. A four-part series set in the land known as Edil-Amarandh. About a slave-girl called Maerad who discovers she has the Gift of being a Bard, involving immense powers. She learns how to use her powers and discovers her destiny with this deadly enemy. It's a great read!

    Book 1- The Gift

    Book 2- The Riddle

    Book 3- The Crow

    Book 4- The Singing

    Hope I helped.

    One word

    Tigana

    (By Guy Gavriel Kay)

    It's a stand alone novel

I must say my favorite fantasy book of all time

To sum it up as short as I can it takes place on the palm. A small group of city states (like Italy used to be) with 2 powerful wizards controlling massive countries on the east and west of them. Instead of teaming up to fight the wizards the 9 CS fight each other. Tigana stands alone and kills one wizard's son. So he puts a puts a curse on them so no one can ever remember their name. Once all of them die the history and culture and people of tigana will be forgotten forever. And this is where the novel begins.

This is soo different than other books because of many things.

    1. This land has their own culture and people and religion and yet ur not over swamped with info.

    2. It's not normal English knights. It's Italian men fighting for their people not a king

    3. Most important part of all there is no good guy beating bad wizard. I felt bad and almost cried for the "evil" wizard because it shows him as a person and not just a random brainless foe.
